How to set up Mozilla Thunderbird email

This guide explains how to add your WebhostingNZ email account to Mozilla Thunderbird.

Before you start

Make sure the email account has already been created in your hosting control panel.

You will need:

  • your full email address
  • your email password
  • your domain name

Step 1: Add the email account

Open Thunderbird.

If this is your first time using Thunderbird, choose the option to use your existing email address.

If you already use Thunderbird, open the menu and go to:

Account Settings → Account Actions → Add Mail Account

Step 2: Enter your account details

Enter:

  • your name
  • your full email address
  • your email password

Tick Remember password if you want Thunderbird to save the password.

Click Continue.

Step 3: Check the detected settings

Thunderbird may try to detect the mail settings automatically.

If the detected settings are correct, you can continue.

If they are incorrect, choose Manual config and enter the settings below.
