What is Softaculous?

Softaculous is an auto-installer available in cPanel.

It can be used to install popular website software such as WordPress and other applications without manually uploading files or creating databases.

What can Softaculous do?

Softaculous can help you:

• install WordPress
• view existing installations
• manage some WordPress settings
• update installed applications
• clone or stage some websites, depending on available options
• remove installations you no longer need

How do I access Softaculous?

1. Log in to cPanel through your WebhostingNZ client area.
2. Look for Softaculous Apps Installer.
3. Click the application you want to install or manage.

For WordPress, you may see options such as WordPress Manager by Softaculous.

Important notes

Softaculous is a helpful tool, but you are still responsible for keeping your website software, themes, and plugins up to date.

Before making major changes, we recommend taking your own backup.
