What is WHM?

WHM stands for Web Host Manager.

It is the reseller control panel used to create and manage cPanel hosting accounts.

WHM is normally used by reseller hosting customers, web designers, developers, and agencies who manage multiple hosting accounts.

What can I do in WHM?

Depending on your reseller plan, WHM may allow you to:

  • create new cPanel accounts
  • suspend or unsuspend accounts
  • reset account passwords
  • manage hosting packages
  • view account usage
  • access customer cPanel accounts
  • manage some DNS settings
  • customise parts of the hosting experience for your customers

WHM vs cPanel

WHM is used to manage hosting accounts.

cPanel is used to manage an individual website hosting account.

For example:

  • reseller logs into WHM
  • reseller creates a hosting account
  • customer or reseller logs into cPanel for that individual site
