How do I move my domain to you?

How do I move my domain to WebhostingNZ?

You can either transfer your domain name to us, or leave it with your current registrar and update the nameservers to point to our hosting.

.nz domain names

There is normally no charge to transfer a .nz domain name to us.

To transfer a .nz domain name, you will need to obtain the UDAI from your current registrar.

Your current registrar is the company where the domain name is currently registered. The UDAI can usually be found inside their domain control panel, or you can contact them and ask for it.

Once you have the UDAI, send it to us and we can start the transfer for you.

.com, .net, .org and other domains

For domains such as .com, .net, and .org, you will usually need an EPP code or transfer key from your current registrar.

These transfers usually include a renewal of the domain name for an additional year, so there may be a transfer fee.

You also need to make sure the domain’s admin contact email address is one you can access, as transfer approval emails may be sent there.

Please note that newly registered .com domain names usually cannot be transferred within the first 60 days.

Do I have to transfer my domain?

No. You can leave your domain name with your current registrar and simply update the nameservers to point to WebhostingNZ.

This is often the easiest option if you only want to use our hosting but keep the domain registered elsewhere.
